This 10-day tour include some of the best attractions Morocco has to offer. You will visit some of the major cities of Morocco including Rabat, Fez, Marrakech, and Essaouira. You will also get to spend the night in the Sahara Desert.

What to Expect:

DAY 1: Explore Marrakech

Arrive at Marrakech airport – Our driver will pick you from the airport and drive to your Riad in the medina. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad.

DAY 2: Explore Marrakech

Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad. Explore Marrakech “the Red City of Morocco.” Guided tour of sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Jemaa el-Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian tombs, the Palace of Bahia and the Ben Youssef Koranic School. Lunch at a restaurant near the square, then in the afternoon visit the Majorelle Gardens, and have a short visit to the new city of Marrakech and the Koutoubia tower. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad.

DAY 3: Explore Essaouira

Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad. Visit the Skala Fortress, see Thuya wood carved by artisans, walk through the alleys of the medina, and view hundreds of handicrafts. Lunch in a Moroccan way with freshly bought seafood ‘cooked to order’. Enjoy some free time to wander around, go to the beach and enjoy time to yourselves. Essaouira is also referred to as the “City of the Wind” and it attracts surfers from all over the world. There is an annual Festival of “Gnawa music”, where many musical groups come from different parts of Africa and the world. Opportunity for a short camel ride. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad.

DAY 4: Marrakech –> Tichka Pass –> Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah –> Dades Valley

Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad. Travel to Ouarzazat and the Dades Valley via the Tichka Pass and over the High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy numerous opportunities to take amazing photographs during the drive. Your first stop will be at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco and a UNESCO world heritage site. Lunch by the Kasbah then continue to Ouarzazat. Stop in Kalaat M’Gouna, “the City of Roses” to purchase the rosewater. Continue through Dades Valley and enjoy seeing majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad.

DAY 5: Dades Gorge –> Todgha Gorge –> Merzouga

Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad. Drive to Merzouga via the Todgha Gorge, Morocco’s premier climbing destination with the highest and narrowest Gorges, and the small towns of Erfoud and Rissani. In Todgha Valley, enjoy panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages. At Todgha Gorge, walk under the 300m high red cliff, popular with many rock-climbers. Enjoy an hour’s hiking within the Valley. Continue to Erfoud and Rissani where you will have lunch. Drive to the village of Merzouga and check in to your Hotel or Riad. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad.

DAY 6: Merzouga and Camel Trek

Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad. Visit the Gnawa (Gnaoua) people, originally slaves brought from West Africa and experience their music and lifestyles. See the lake of Merzouga with its bird populations. Walk the souk in Rissani, viewing vegetable, dates, crafts and animals. Time permitting, visit the nomad warehouse where many Berber handicrafts are sold. Guided camel ride to explore the sand sea of Merzouga and enjoy the sunset before dinner in the camp. Overnight at desert camp.

DAY 7: Merzouga –> Ziz Valley –> Midelt –> Azrou –> Fez

Early in the morning, wake up to watch the most beautiful sunrise. Camel trek back to the village of Merzouga over the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad. Drive to Fez via the Ziz Valley and Azrou and enjoy the fascinating landscape along the Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, and through the Tizi n’ Talghamt Pass to Midelt. Enjoy a barbecue and refreshment with a glass of mint tea in Zaida and continue our journey to Fez. Visit Cedar Forest on the Middle Atlas Mountains where you will see the Barbarian apes in the wild. Arrive in Fez at the end of the day and check in to your Hotel or Riad. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad.

DAY 8: Explore Fez

Explore Fez, known as the “the Spiritual City of Morocco” and walk through the Medina and its alleys. Visit cultural and historical sites including the famous Al-Karaouine Mosque and University (the oldest in the world), the Madrasa Bou Inania, the famous Tanneries and the Nejjarine Fountain. After lunch, travel outside the Medina and see the Royal Palace gate, walk through “Mellah”, the Jewish quarter and a short visit to the ceramic factory. Drive to one of the Fortresses to experience a panoramic view of the whole Medina of Fez. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad.

DAY 9: Fez –> Meknes –> Rabat

Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad. Drive to Rabat via Volubilis and Meknes over the Rif Mountains. Continue to the Roman city of Volubilis for a Guided tour of partially excavated Berber and Roman City of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage. In Meknes, one of the four imperial cities of Morocco. Visit the Bab Mansour Gate, one of the most amazing gates in the world; the imperial Granaries and Stables the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Free time to wander in the Lahdim square then continue to Rabat. Overnight accommodation at your Hotel or Riad.

DAY 10: Rabat –> Casablanca –> Departure

Have breakfast at your Hotel or Riad, after which we will drive you to Casablanca airport for your flight. Tour ends.
